Hopeless, have managed to set up account but it is impossible to book an appointment for a service.The calender is fixed on today’s date there appears to be no way to alter it - so why do you offer an alternative that simply refers me back to the phone? I could have done that in the first place.You need to get your act together !!!!!!!!!!
Just wanted to book an annual boiler service appointment, impossible, absolutely useless site. Too busy bigging yourselves up and trying to get even more money from your customers instead of making their lives easier. I have already shifted my gas and electric to EON maybe time to switch my service as well.
Agree with all other recent comments. Your site does not give any access to a screen where you can use the ‘unique number’. The site just goes round in circles trying to sell things. Useless and not worth trying.

I too have wasted 55 minutes this morning getting nowhere. It is disgusting that this day and age British Gas can’t set up something that works.
Just booked annual service on line took me three minutes. You have to click on the british gas link on the left of your screen. Click on the britishgas/booking this will take you to arrange visit page an its straight forward from there.
I sincerely hope your service engineers are better than your web designer (s). Cut the advertising and provide a service that is fit for purpose. Remember - without customers you don’t have a job!

The so called service is just a visual inspection not a service. They used to clean out the boiler but now they just look at it. You or I could do that!

Despite all the comments advising that you cannot book online for an annual service no action has been taken to sort this out. I will have to call with the expectation that I will get a 2 hour slot by telephone as this is your issue.

I have been trying to phone to book a service but lines are busy so have spent half an hour trying to see where i need to put my unique reference number into the given website. Am very frustrated!!
Just tried to book a visit for a boiler service, and shouldn’t have bothered, as per all the other unsatisfied customers mention. I received a postcard, telling me how easy it would be to book the visit, and yet found myself getting embroiled in signing up for paperless billing, nectar points….what the? If the internet site says to book your annual boiler service here, then it should do just that. Must say am not surprised.
Having tried to book an appointment using website I must agree with all negative reports. After wasting time trying to find right section I put all my details as instructed I am then told no appointments available on the assumption that I wanted the same day booking with no other options and I should contact the 0800 no.

What an absolute load of rubbish. How on earth do you book an inspection appointment on line. I have spent 1 hour trying to fathom out your system. Now for the telephone which will tell me you are experiencing a lot of calls and I should call back later. But then this is BRITISH GAS.

28/5/11 - 5.20 pm. Tried yesterday and today (unsuccessfully) to book a visit for boiler service and wish I had not bothered. One goes through to a home page selling central heating, new boilers and service contracts. It is appalling that no-one in authority seems to take any notice and understandable why there are so many complaints about British Gas.
What does older comments mean? seems to me as if this system has been designed by IT experts who know what the are doing, pity we the customer cant understand what they are doing. PS, the old fashioned way, booking by phone, could not confirm a day in the week I wanted, will call back. No one has called back, 3 weeks ago!

If the standard of maintenance service is anything like the website for booking an appointment then it’s time that we all changed to another supplier. Even the instructions for leaving a comment are vague.
Like many other have attempted to use the website to book the annual service and have been offered everything but this. will echo the comments made to Mr. Matthew Bateman, you should not put your name to something that is so useless.
I have tried for some time to get your “booking” by logging on but am having the same trouble as your other clients. Why am I paying all this money for so much trouble?
Useless system! have tried 9 times to book a service system does not work will now try phoning to book 2 hour slot! system does not take homecare numbers at all.

Well I must admit I am baffled, I have now had 2 letters from you asking me to arrange my Annual Service online, I have tried a few times to no avail, very dissappointed that I was unable to do this, as stated before by others, why ask people to do this, when it really is not possible to do so. I along with others pay good money and feel you have let us down this time.
