Oh dear–what a shambles of a web site british gas — tried for three days to make an appointment for my annual review — sends me all round the houses and then ’sticks’ when I try to enter the site to book the appointment!!!!!
Tried logging on to britishgas.co.uk/booking - tried five different links - nowhere can I actually book my annual service. Have to use the phone. Absolutely useless!!
Why is the website not being improved when so many people are having difficulty booking appointments. I have tried numerous times to book on line. When I ring in desperation I am told all the paople are busy. I wonder why!!!!!!!!
Like so many others I have tried to book my 15th annual service but unable to do so. Britishgas,co,uk/booking is rubbish, SWALEC has a much better site, I just might change to them.
Despite having recieved two notification letters to inform me that my annual service is due, in fact now overdue, when I eventually found the right page to book an appointment online I am advised that my annual service is not yet due. Please, what sort of service am i paying for?
Reference my last comment, on looking at some of British Gas’s other pages advertising their products and services I find they are at least a year out of date. Do keep up with the times and offer us up to date services and prices, please.

What a dreadful service !!! Cannot get anywhere on what should be a simple ability to book on line. Telephone response is no better. British Gas URGENTLY need a new and capable IT team!
British Gas booking a service call. After telephone call to ascertain a service date and given 2 weeks time with am or pm, not satisfied with this timing, it was suggested that I use my internet facility for a 2 hour time slot, what a waste of time this is, all they want to tell you is how to buy a new boiler, perhaps I should, but not from BG thats for sure. The most frustrating experience. Unable to book a 2 hour slot online for annual service. Tried ringing for a 6 hour slot, only to be told, in the mildest October for years that were very busy and to phone back. Looking elsewhere fo a supplier.
Annual serevice due October, rang to book, no availability until mid December “due to frequency of breakdown callouts”, hardly an annual service! Hopefully by December I will not have added to the breakdown statistic. Tried to rearrange online, not able to access this service, disappointing.
I have tried to book an engineer to come and sort out my boiler on line as doing this by phone can take ages. But on-line it is rejecting correct info. Certainly not user freindly,
Have a HomeCare contract and received letter suggesting we can book online or by an 0800 tel number. I have been trying for nearly an hour and it is impossible. I will persevere and book this service visit (as it has been paid for this year) and will then move to “gas safe” (ex corgi) as they can NOT be as poor at service levels as British Gas internet site.
After the torrential rain of a month ago i found that the rain had come in through my outlet pipe and damaged the boiler in my kitchen, i arranged for an engineer to come and fix the problem as i was a ‘homecare’ customer, after looking at my boiler he told me that i needed a new ‘electro lead’ and then told me that british gas don’t have the type i needed anymore as my boiler is an old model, then he explained that my homecare agreement didnt cover the work anyway as the fault was caused by water damage so he packed up his tools and left, since then ive had no heating or hot water, the day after i cancelled my homecare agreement as i didnt see the point of paying £23.02 a month for NO service. Today (8th Aug) i recieved a letter asking me to renew my homecare,why would i pay for a service that is non existant, maybe if you spent less on silly TV adverts and more on your paying customers british gas might get some better reviews.
I have requested my annual service check as it is overdue and have been told the first available appointment is october - two months overdue and into next years schedule! i was told i could book online but cannot find the facility. Now see other customers were experiencing this problem two years ago and you have still not resolved this. NOT A VERY GOOD SERVICE!!
i like others above cannot find where to book an on line appointment today my boiler failed and after paying into homecare for more years than i can remember phoned for help only to betold the earliest call would be sunday the 2nd sept i asked for an a.m. call the answer was we cant do a.m. calls
only 9am to 6pm great , if all you have to do on sunday is wait for british gas homecare to call, i called in a plumber who fixed it f.o.c
the boiler i have is fairly new as the old one was condemd by brtish gas because the cover seal had bean damaged by someone opening it with a screwdriver only british gas had ever touched it at service times ??
I attempted, without any success, to book a service on-line. What a frustrating exercise! My intention was to save time and achieve a 2 hour appointment. After various attempts and time wasted on the computer my objective failed dismally. Shambolic is a keyword which describes this futile exercise. My next objective is to telephone and book a service, with some concerns. Memo to self. Find an alternative company to service boiler next year.
